Using the Assumptive Close to Work Your Database
Sammy James - Monday, June 30, 2008
As an exhibitor at the Career College Association (CCA) last week in Vegas, I did not have too much time to see many speakers. One speaker I always make time for however is Nancy Rogers of Source for Training. She knows her stuff when it comes to admissions and enrollment and always tells it like it is.

Among all the great material she covered, one idea really jumped out as an action item that anyone can do today to increase your appointments and enrollments this month.

Send an email to your entire database of leads no matter how old, and tell them they have an appointment on Thursday at 2PM for example. Set all the appointments for the same day and time. That's it. Simple. You will get about 1% or 2% show rate.

Another option is to have a bunch of postcards preprinted saying;

"Congratulations, you have been accepted to Your School pending the completion of your admissions process. We have arranged an appointment for you to meet with an admissions representative on __________ at ____. "

You just fill in the blank. But make all the days and times the same. A few folks might call to rearrange the time etc. but that's OK.

We are big believers in working the leads right the first time so you don't have a "dead pile" of leads. But if you do, this is a great way to work them.
